Host a CIEE High School Exchange Student
Bring the world to you!! This is your chance to learn about the culture of another country, learn a new language and even sample international cuisine. Students bring their own spending money and health insurance. Students also bring their love, sense of humor, new perspectives on culture, and deeper insights into people and places. Share your passions about life, your community, and American culture with a high school exchange student. The goodwill, generosity and mutual understanding fostered through exchange programs are critical to meeting the challenges of today’s world. CIEE USA High School students stay with their host families for either 1 or 2 semesters while attending a US high school. Host families with or without children, and empty nesters can all host. Host families can take a tax deduction for hosting. Here is a sample of some students coming this year:
*Sabrina is from Germany. She likes to do gymnastics, watch movies, cook, read, water and snow ski, and camp. She is a member of the aquarium club at school and loves riding horses. She would like to join a gymnastics, swimming, volleyball or horse competition team and photography club here. She is involved with her church in Germany.
*Andre is from Brazil. “I am friendly, talkative, open-minded, sociable, and honest helpful.” He loves playing soccer, coaching soccer, playing guitar with his dad and watching movies with his mom. He also really likes photography and cooking. During his exchange year he would like to play soccer, American football, and possibly perform in a musical. He hopes to be a pilot when he is older.
*Lars is from Germany. He plays guitar and the piano. He has a horse and rides often. He is interested in playing soccer, basketball or joining the school band at his US high school. Lars volunteers with his church youth group and boy scouts. He has 2 older sisters.
Do your part to influence how the world sees our great country. Share this wonderful country and your community with an exchange student. Join America’s most effective form of citizen diplomacy by hosting a CIEE high school exchange student.
